Motorla ES400 Signature Capture Device

A core of Speed’s Sameday Courier drivers will soon begin trailing a new real time signature capture device with a view to replacing the existing HP IPAQ hand helds. After months of research, the device chosen to be moved on to field testing is the Motorola ES400 E.D.A. (Enterprise Digital Assistant). Subject to a successful field trial the new driver hand helds will be issued to our Courier drivers before the end of February.

The Motorola ES400 is a cutting-edge mobile Enterprise Digital Assistant that gives field workers and drivers access to critical enterprise-class applications anywhere. In real terms it smoothes and speeds the flow of information from Control to Driver, and ultimately onto the Customer.

Improvements in the vehicle tracking capabilities of the machines should allow better fleet utilisation; a reduction in miles travelled due to improved routing and subsequently reduced emissions

Speed Couriers was at the forefront of the “real time signature capture” revolution in the courier industry; substantial benefits were seen by customers through the use of advanced courier booking systems and integrated mobile data applications. Who could argue against the benefit of being able to receive a hard copy proof of delivery the instant that a consignment is delivered?

Look out for the new hardware when our drivers make their collections from you!
