Local Collection Points: When not to Use them

There are many ‘collection point’ services that  provide a delivery/collection service with which customers can pick up their purchased item from a registered collection station such as local shops and post offices, but there are many cases in which they cannot provide customers with the safety or environment in which their item must be kept.

Delicate Goods

Delicate goods are a prime example of why A-B delivery is the most sensible option when it comes to your item. Not only is the package left vulnerable at a ‘middle’ location for an undisclosed amount of time, but the loading and unloading of other boxes and items from the collection point’s storage area means your item could suffer from knocks and contact with other parcels.

High Value Items

High value items should always be treated with extreme care, attention and delivered on an A-B basis (directly to the customer). Approved collection points should be trusted of course, but cutting down on even the smallest of risks when a high value item is at stake, is always advisable.

Volatile, Medical or Dangerous Goods

Items such as these should only be handled by professionals at all times, ‘collection points’ are simply that; they lack the suitable environment and the expertise to handle and care for such items appropriately, so never consider this as an option when dealing in these items.
