The Royal Mail have come under fire once again in Cambridge after deciding to alter the times their postal workers will collect from post boxes around the city. From now onwards, the final collection time in Cambridge will be made at 17:10 BST, which is twenty minutes earlier than the previous collection time.
Posters all over the city who rely on a last-minute collection such as those commuting back from their place of work will be severely hindered if posting items for a set delivery date.
According to the Cambridge News, Royal Mail said only a few months ago that it had no intention to change collection times, but now it would seem they have done just that.
David Prentice, Grafton Post Office postmaster, said the decision to change the time of collections is “ridiculous and backward”.
“The change will represent a significant worsening of the service for businesses and individuals needing a last-minute or emergency mailing,” he added.
Unfortunately for those in Cambridge, their efforts to have things delivered on time are now looking a little sketchier. Luckily Speed Couriers are here to ensure that Manchester delivery deadlines are hit every day; let’s keep things running smoothly, Manchester!
