Parcel Tracking

Speed Couriers parcel tracking

Our parcel tracking system is based upon GPS enabled PDA devices carried by our courier drivers; this ensures our Operations Team are always aware of the exact position of every vehicle at all times. The PDA devices are also used to transmit collection and delivery instructions to our drivers and to capture real-time electronic signature data – allowing clients to receive a signature for their shipment the instant the goods are delivered!

The tracking system is directly linked into our courier booking and allocation facility, ACI (Advanced Courier Interface), and ensures that we are able to identify the most suitable, available, vehicle the very instant a booking is received. This eliminates waiting time for clients and reduces “dead miles” and unnecessary carbon emissions.

Whilst our booking system is extremely accurate – our post-code database is updated regularly – it’s not uncommon to find that some premises are actually really very hard for drivers to locate; even more so in the dark. Speed’s parcel tracking system allows us to toggle into satellite view mode and talk our drivers right into a location should the need arise!

The system is available to all of our clients through a dedicated web portal and can be configured to provide as much, or as little, data as required. The parcel tracking system can be further expanded to encompass a full client driven on-line booking facility.

Transparency and accountability is at the heart of everything that we do; clients using our parcel tracking facility enjoy the benefit of seeing exactly what our control staff see -when we say a van is “just round the corner” you’ll know for sure that it really is!
